Boxing Day 2007
After a Christmas Day of over indulgence – too much food, too much to drink and a host of silly games, it was reluctantly, that 24 stalwarts from the club turned out on a beautiful but cold Boxing Day morning at Sneyd Astro.
“What are we doing here, we must be mad”, were the cries to be heard all over the ground. At least the present players had an excuse – well have you ever tried to say no to a half nelson from Tony Haywood? This was an offer that only the strongest could refuse! However two returning players really only had themselves to blame! It was really good to see Natalie Allen and Victoria Wright returning for the occasion.

Victoria has just been selected to join the England Over 40 side, so we pass on our congratulations to her and couldn't help but notice that proud smile from her dad, Roy Wright, who was also playing as he still does regularly for the 4ths. At Over 80, Roy would be a sure fire cert for the England side but unfortunately they could not find enough players to make up a team!
The game itself was played in good spirit, with many goals being scored from open
play and the final result of 4 -
